In the Epic, Gilgamesh is being chased by a wild bull and is hiding behind a rock. At that time a ram, Laban, comes and offers himself to be killed for him, which Gilgamesh accepts, promising to give him whatever he wants in return.Once he has been tricked, Gilgamesh uses the sling to kill the ram. As he is fleeing, he finds some cedar sticks lying around. He gives these cedar sticks to his adopted father, Urukagina, and afterwards they find a river and travel on it. Finally, they reach Urukagina's house where they are reunited with the hound and their new mother.However, upon returning home, they find that the cattle have stolen some of their sheep, so, they try to hunt down the culprits down but they cannot find any clues. Eventually, they eventually realize that the culprits are robbers who had a habit of stalking them at night. As such, the new mother of Gilgamesh begs for help and invites her daughter, Enkidu, to stay with her.In the meantime, the bull which had been made its victim arrives at the palace where Gilgamesh is and waits for his next prey. In order to be successful in this endeavor, Gilgamesh takes with him a ram (the brothe r of the one he had earlier killed) and when he arrives at the city gates he makes his way towards Enkidu and his mother.When they meet at the door, Gilgamesh tells Enkidu that he is going to play with him so he can train him. Then, Gilgamesh leads Enkidu and his mother out of the palace while she hides with the sheep.As they move along, they suddenly come across a herd of sheep that had been attacked by robbers and the cedar poles that Gilgamesh had earlier found at the gate of the palace had been taken away. In order to save his adoptive father's life, Gilgamesh is about to sacrifice himself and his mother when Enkidu takes him by the arm and pulls him away. He saves Enkidu's life and manages to rescue Urukagina and his adopted father who are still locked inside the palace.
